1. US-70 East — Durham / Knightdale Corridor

US-70 runs east from downtown Durham toward Knightdale, Zebulon, and Goldsboro, serving as one of the primary commercial arteries on Durham’s east side. The Cook Out on this corridor serves the East Durham communities, the Brier Creek area, the Research Triangle Park employees commuting east, and the residential subdivisions along US-70 between the I-885 interchange and the Durham-Wake county line.

2. NC-55 — Southeast Durham

NC-55 runs southeast from downtown Durham toward Apex and Holly Springs in Wake County. The Cook Out on the NC-55 corridor serves the Hope Valley and South Durham communities, the Woodcroft and Parkwood residential areas, and the commuter traffic between Durham and the fast-growing southwestern Wake County communities. It also draws from the Durham Technical Community College campus and the medical device and pharmaceutical companies located in the Research Triangle Park corridors south of I-40.

3. Guess Road — North Durham

Guess Road runs north from downtown Durham toward the Bahama and Roxboro communities in northern Durham County. The Cook Out on Guess Road serves the Walltown and Old North Durham historic neighborhoods, the Greystone and Colony Park communities further north, and the residential areas between I-85 and Guess Road in the north Durham corridor. It is the closest Cook Out to Duke University’s East Campus on Buchanan Boulevard, which sits roughly between downtown and the Guess Road corridor.

4. Fayetteville Road — South Durham / NCCU

Fayetteville Road runs south from downtown Durham toward the South Square area and the US-15/501 corridor toward Chapel Hill. The Cook Out on Fayetteville Road serves North Carolina Central University (NCCU), which enrolls approximately 8,000 students and sits between Fayetteville Street and Lawson Street in south Durham. NCCU is an HBCU with a law school and business school drawing graduate students who are often up late. The Fayetteville Road location is the NCCU-serving Cook Out.

It also draws from the Burch Avenue and Morehead Hill neighborhoods, the East End District, and the South Square commercial area near the US-15/501 interchange with I-40.

Duke University’s West Campus on Science Drive is accessible from the US-15/501 corridor, making this one of the two Duke-area Cook Out locations alongside the Guess Road location to the north.

The US-15/501 Cook Out also draws from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill side of the corridor, particularly students and staff living in Durham who commute to Chapel Hill. UNC Chapel Hill enrolls over 30,000 students and shares a commuter corridor with Durham’s south side.
